557114_541853739538_1617655310_nMeet Rose McCurdy and Artist and a Chaplain! She is a wife, painter, dog owner, friend, spiritual companion, bible geek, and yoga novice. She leads her community with a strong heart and a loving touch, providing warmth and compassion.

The chaplain: Rose graduated in May of 2012 from Columbia Theological Semanaery, she has an Masters of Divinity and is  ordination in the Presbyterian Church USA. Receiving  units of CPE as a Hospice chaplain and preparing to sit for Board Certification, Rose has provide pastoral support  in the Hospice, home visitation, nursing homes, summer camp, and with Adults and children ranging in age from 7-102. She has training in working with bereavement with adults and children, Veterans and working with the spiritual wounds of those who have been to war, and teaching spiritual practices to lay-persons. Rose  also received a BS is Political Science: Public Administration from the University of the Ozarks in 2008.

The artist: Rose  was formally a costume and set designer for the theater before entering the ministry, which is where she received some formal design training . Mostly she is self taught, and uses her keen eye and deep passion and creativity to create her work.  She loves to  paint! This ranges fro acrylic to watercolor where she brings to life  scripture passages, landscapes and mandalas. Although Rose is  venturing  into new art-forms like art journaling, jewelry making, and sewing, her real work is in watercolor these days.

 

Rose believes that God in Creation of the world and each person left the divine spark of creativity and passion, by taping into the blessings within ourselves and the beauty of the world around us we can grow in faith.
